Dear Parents/Caregivers,

As part of our Health Education Programme Room 7 will be focusing on “Positive Puberty”.  The programme will run for the rest of this term from Monday 1st September.

The content of the programme will include:

  • Caring for our bodies— healthy eating, responsible body care etc.
  • Identifying external and internal body parts and their functions.
  • The physical changes that occur in the various stages of growth from childhood to adulthood for males and females.
  • Strategies to positively deal with the physical, emotional and social changes at puberty.
  • The importance of a positive self image and strategies for dealing with stereotyping that can affect how students feel about themselves.

In term 4 Rooms 5 and 6 will be covering Caring for our bodies— healthy eating, responsible body care and the importance of a positive self image and strategies for dealing with stereotyping that can affect how students feel about themselves.

We are writing to inform you that Whaea Rona will be available on Thursday 28 August at 3.15 p.m. in Room 7 to discuss the content of the programme.

We realise that this may be a sensitive subject for some families and we welcome, and value, any input or suggestions you may have regarding the content to be taught.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Whaea Rona.

Yours sincerely,

Whaea Rona

Rainy day school pickup
19 Aug 2025

Kia ora e te whanau.

It is too cold, windy and wet to release our young tamariki from the office at the moment. Could you please collect your child from class, unless it is sunny and the I have brought them out to the waharoa.

Nga mihi,
Whaea Kylie.

Collecting your child at home time
19 Aug 2025

Hi there,

If the weather is wet like today, I will be keeping Room 3 in class to be collected from there.  Please collect your child from the classroom. If the weather is fine, we will still wait outside at the front of the school.  Older children can collect their siblings as well from Room 3, when they are dismissed from class.

Many thanks,

Viv Townsend

Room 3 teacher
